Aspartame is poison.
You know, there have been rumblings for years that Aspartame was suspected to be at the bottom of 'this' problem or 'that' disease. But until I actually started to dig into it, I never realized just how bad it was. More than that, I am amazed how many scientists and researchers actually begged the FDA to NOT allow it to market, and they were actually ignored or bribed to shut up. I don't think it was (or is) a sinister plot to kill people (or anything like that), but I believe it is all because of money (Captain Obvious here, I know).

The jury is still out on Splenda (Sucralose) as well... and one thing that was said on this video that incensed me the most, is the apparent willingness of companies (and the FDA) to approve and release products to the people, to allow them to test and see if it safe (or not) 20 years later. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, they did a similar thing with tobacco.

Set aside an hour and a half sometime in the near future, and watch this video. And for your health's sake, stop eating it.

The original place where I found this is here.

b-b-b-but if the past 2 days are any indication - if I don't have my Diet Coke, the world around me and all those in it will suffer. A lot.

Several years ago after hearing much about this killer I decided to check it out for myself. What I learned - as you now know - not only upset me but offended me. Why our regulatory boards allowed and companies who produce and use this killer - allowed to go unpunished. Not a fine but serious jail time. Same with "nicotine delivering devices", and so on. Glad you shared this with your LJFs. Needless to say - but going to anyway - I have avoided aspartame for many years now and I too am worried about splenda but what I have read that seems credible [which has not been much] is that it is a different animal. Fingers crossed.
